From Shy to High Note: How "Antakshari" turned "ME" into an Insta-Star
UPDATE: A true story of a high school introvert girl who is facing issues like those explained in my blog, https://thinkrightsociety.blogspot.com/2023/10/why-is-nobody-talking-to-me.html, when she joined for class 11 in a new school in her own words.
When I started class 11 at a new school, I felt nervous because I didn't know anyone. As I am an introvert, I worried about fitting in.
I often found it challenging to express myself or showcase my talents in a group setting. However, on our PTM day, we were having a free period; and my classmates decided to play "Antakshari" which proved to be a "game changer" with regards to my connections with them.
During the game, I sang a song for the first time before my classmates. They were pleasantly surprised by my singing abilities. They encouraged me to sing more, and I felt a newfound sense of confidence and joy in sharing my singing talent without any hesitation.
After this incident, one of my classmate, got curious to know about my future career goals which led to deeper conversations which otherwise is not possible; being an introvert, I find it difficult to open up before my peer group. Another friend, impressed by my singing talent, decided to follow me on Instagram.
What struck me the most was how showcasing my singing talent changed the dynamics of my connections.
I feel, as introverts, we often underestimate the impact we can have when we open up and share our skill sets with others. This experience taught me that in the most unexpected moments, we can find opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and meaningful connections with those around us.
What do you think???
Parents have to notice the interests of the children when they were young and help them to improve their skills. The parents will have to teach children to engage with guests and not to shy away. Children should be encouraged to showcase their skills whenever an opportunity comes. The fear of not performing well should be driven away. The importance of social connections should be taught. Parents have the responsibility to bring out changes in children who are introverts.
